MSXML Parser v5.0 where is?

M

Mike Scanlon

I heard that this is available only via Office 2003. My
question is, does anyone know if this is available in the
Standard edition, or only Professional.

I have a Standard Office upgrade pack (that I haven't
opened up yet) that talks about XML support being included
in the Professional version, but I was wondering if anyone
knew the answer to the above question for sure.

Thanks a lot,
Mike Scanlon

Hi Mike,

You may want to followup with a post in the MS Office XML
newsgroup as well
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.office.xml

The copy of MS Office Word 2003 sold standalone and in the
MS Office 2003 Professional package does have added XML handling
capabilities (custom schemas for example) over Word 2003 in
other MS Office 2003 packages, but I don't recall offhand if
the parser v5 is in all of them.

FWIW, MS has changed the name <<Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML)
formerly called the Microsoft XML Parser >>
