MSysIMEX no longer appears

I ran a TransferText sub in a database that has been working fine for ages.
I recently put it on a new PC running Windows 2000 instead of Windows 98 as
previously. I put on my Office 97 and ran the sub to append some records
from a text file into an Access table. I got the message that Access could
not find
MSysIMEXSpecs.

Sure enough this system table was no longer there when I unhid it.

'No probs', I thought, 'just create a new database and import my tables from
this one.
I created a new database but MSysIMEXSPecs did not appear in the list of
system tables.
I still had it in an old database and could import it but why isn't it being
created in new databases?
Does it only appear when you first run a transfer text macro?

Do I need to do a reinstall on Access to recover this or would that be a
waste of time?

OK, I've got it working. I did import the MSysIMEXSpec from another database
and then created the Import Specification which I needed to make my code
work. Maybe I didn't even need to import the table. Perhaps this is a table
that only appears after you have imported something into the database.
I'll have to experiment.

Importing Import/Output specifications is one of the OPTIONS of the
Import process - they don't get their own page, you have to tick
the option button.
