multi-lined text does not remain centered when printed

i have excel 2004 11.1.1 for mac

If i have an excel cell with "centered" text...it displays correctly
and prints correctly IF IT IS ONE LINE ONLY

HOWEVER, If i have more than one line in a cell...and i command it to
be centered.....the data does display correctly but does not print
correctly. each line is tabbed further and further over...

i also noticed.....and this may be a clue to somebody.....

that if i click on file-> print -> preview......the file gets
processed....and the processed displayed spreadsheet shows the text
does NOT remain centered...and is exactly as it prints out...which is
tabbed further out on each line within a cell.

please help me correct this situation so i can read my cell text
......thank you !

Couple of possibilities to try:

1) XL takes its print metrics from your printer driver, both for
printing and for print preview. Make sure that the driver is updated.

2) In File/Page Setup, try changing your Print Quality setting - some
drivers and XL have a strange interaction with that setting - some seem
to do fine in Normal, others require quality set to High.

I have no idea how I can thank you enough.

I would never have known. NEVER. Print quality, set at normal, caused
the problem.
Settting on "high" and the problem is gone.

Absolutely incredible.

Thank you....thank you.....thank you....
