Multi-Table Query/Data Access Page--can't edit data

3-table query works fine in form, but no matter how I build a DAP in Access2000/2 (manual, wizard, autopage) I cannot make the main table fields 'editable.' I can successfully create editable fields in DAP from a single table. Is this a DAP limitation or am I missing something?
