multiple additions to autocorrect

I need to add over 3000 pairs to autocorrect in Word.

I have the pairs in a text file that I extracted from WordPerfect.
Ideally, I would like a utility or macro that would add the pairs from
the text file. Alternatively, I need the structure of the acl file so
that I could write a VB program to do it. I am a programmer so the
latter is feasible.

Please give me a location for a utility or give me a location for a
detailed file definition or structure
