Let me know if you find a solution. The Address Book just looks stupid at
this point.
I have between 4 and 8 copies of every contact. The contacts with 8 entries
are in multiple 'groups' in the real Address Book, so I suspect that E'rage
just plays badly with AddressBook groups.
This was tested, right? By non-employees?
There's a script that might do the job for you, but I can't say for sure
whether it works with Entourage *2008* or not. See this page for more

I don't see this duplication on my machine. Also, groups are simply
collections of contacts; they do not add new contacts to Address Book, they
only represent a filtered view of all the Address Book contacts. In other
words, they can't be responsible for this duplication, especially since
Entourage is not aware of these groups when its contacts are being synched
to Address Book.
