Multiple backup saves

Amy

Any time I save changes to my doc, it creates a backup of
it which is an open file on my toolbar. If I save my
file multiple times, I have as many backup files open as
I have saved. Is this a feature you can turn off?

Hi Amy,

I have saved.
Can you explain what you mean be "creates a backup of it
which is an open file on my toolbar". You mean the Windows
Taskbar?

Word doesn't do this. It sounds to me as if you may have
some kind of addin or a macro that's interfering. How is
such a file named? Give us an example, please?

Which version of Word is this?
