Multiple Connect Required for Project Server

We have an interesting situation. Whenever someone with XP SP2 and McAfee 8i
on their PC connects to Server with Project Pro 2K3, they are required to
connect twice. When they connect, they lock on the Project Server Security
Login window (we are using Windows Authentication). When they cancel that
and connect again, it goes through. Users with McAfee 8i and XP SP1 do not
have this issue, and user with McAfee 7.1 and any version of XP do not,
either.

Has anyone else run into this? If so, did you find a solution?

For clarification, McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0.0 is what McAfee 8i is
referring to.

We see the same thing. When you start MSP it stops in the Project Server
Security Logon dialog until you hit "Cancel". When you hit "Connect" the
second time it usually works. Occasionally it takes three attempts, very
occasionally connects on the first attempt.

Our IT group initially told us this was a known problem with McAfee but is
now denying they ever said that

It has been traced to a particular API call being messed up but I'll have to
dig through my notes to find it. Still pretty sure it is a McAfee issue
though. Our IT group is escalating...

I knew we couldn't be the only ones with this issue!! Looking forward to
that API call if you can find it. Our security folks are busy
troubleshooting an issue on another project, and our pilot will be complete
soon.
