Multiple contacts list ... getting rid of

B

Bruce Pinkerton

Outlook 2002. I moved my outlook.pst file from old
computer to a new one. I placed in the same file
location. Now when I hit the address button to find a
contact, or open contacts to create a new one ... I get
the message address book can not be displayed ... I click
ok ... then I get the Address Book pop up window that
shows no contacts (I have over 300 contacts) The "Show
Names From the:" drop down list will show Outlook Address
Book with two listings of Contacts under it ... I have to
select the second "Contacts" and then I get to my
contacts!!

How do I get rid of the "empty" contact list? Many
thanks for any and all help.

At this point, the best solution is to remove the Outlook Address Book completely:

1. Use Tools | Email Accounts | Change address book.
2. Remove the Outlook Address Book.
3. Exit and restart Outlook.
4. Repeat #1, then add the Outlook Address Book.
5. On the Properties dialog for the Contacts folder, make sure the Outlook Address Book box is checked.

, then exit and restart Outlook and add it back into the profile and check all the Contacts
