multiple copies

I have pop 3 acct. set up in outlook and everytime i hit
send/receive i get
the same emails....Like if I get one from my friend
Bob...5 minutes later if
i hit send/receive the exact same email from Bob will
come in again. Does
this have something to do with leaving a copy on the
server?
