Multiple Custom Shows

I was wondering if I can use multiple custom shows in a presentation?
I currently have a slide show running with about 35 slide. I designed
a custom show to have those slides repeat for about 3 hours during
which time I have continuous music playing.

I now want to add a video presentation about every hour. I can do
this but the background music plays over the video (with sound). I'm
hoping I can design the presentation to run about 1 hours of slide,
have the music end while the video is running, and resume on the slide
following the video (and not start back at the beginning of the
music).

Was thinking if I can create two custom shows, I could run the 1st
show than the 2nd show than the 1st show again.

Any ideas or suggestions.

The "continuing the music from where it left off" part is a deal-buster.
You could start the music over or "fade" out all sound (using an add-in),
but I do not know of any way to selectively fade one sound down and another
up, let alone pause the first while the second is playing.
