Multiple Distributor Pricing Search?

I have a computer chain and have been trying to find a solution for pricing
and quote generation. Currently my sales staff have to search multiple
distributor price catalogs and websites to create quotes, We recieve
distributor pricing in excel from distributors but i would like a way to
import multiple excel price catalogs into 1 database which then can be
searched by staff to create quotes? I would like to be able to update the
database daily with the new prices we recieve. Any Ideas???

Unless you are proficient in Access, this could be a challenge. First you
will have to design a database structure that will allow you to store data by
Distributor, Product Class, Product, attributes of the Product, etc. Then
you will have to develop business rules like if two distributors carry the
same product, how do I select the distibutor?
Importing the data from Excel will be the easiest part of this. Even so,
there is more than one way to do this.
So, my advise is to find a professional who can help you develop the
business rules, design the database, and create the application you need to
do your business.
