Multiple Email Accounts.

I have 3 email accounts in my Outlook profile. To choose I normally open a
new email and select the acount from the "account" dropdown. For some reason
this facility has stopped working and instead I recieve a pop-up error
message "Unable to complete operation. A fatal error has occured in Outlook".
Any suggestions?
