Multiple emails for same person in contacts address box display

Hello, I have Outlook 2002 SP3 using it with Windows XP.

One of my contacts, Smith, has three email addresses. In his entry in
contacts, I label them in the "display as" field 'Smith h' for home, 'Smith
w' for work and 'Smith a' for alternate. When I open the address book and
the entries feed from my contacts folder, it lists Smith three times as
Smith, Smith, and Smith. How can I get it to show the three different email
addresses as I have named them--Smith a, Smith h and Smith w?

Thanks.

More accurately: when I start an email, and click on To:, it opens the Select
Names dialogue box. This is where it appears as Smith, Smith, Smith.

You can't. The Outlook Address Book can only be sorted one of two ways:
1.First Name, Last Name
2. File As... field.

Hi, I was hoping you would have read my second post because it clarified my
first post.

I already sorted the Outlook Address Book. When I start a new email, I
click on the To: button, it pulls up the Select Names dialogue box. In
there, instead of displaying the email aliases as I have set up (which shows
me which email address is which), it just lists Smith, Smith and Smith. This
isn't particularly helpful in selecting which one I need to use. Contacts
gives the user the option to store 3 email addresses, but when we go to use
it in selecting the address in an email, it does not distinguish them for us.
I am looking for help in setting it up so that when I open the Select Names
dialogue box, it will distinguish the 3 email addresses. If this is not
possible, then I encourage Microsoft to find a way to make it possible in a
future version/upgrade.

I did read your second post. The answer is still the same. It is not
possible.
Outlook does not use the Email Display As field in the Outlook Address Book.
This really isn't the problem it used to be because in Outlook 2003 the
Outlook Address Book can be resized to permit you to distinguish easily
which address is which.
