Multiple files created when saving files under Windows 7

I am using Office 2007. We recently purchased a new computer with Windows 7.
Now, everytime I save a copy of a modified file in Excel or Word, it saves
as a new document with "@<date>T<time> appended to the original filename.
How can I make this stop? I'm getting a plethora of files!
