Multiple Global Templates?

Can MSProject work with more than one global template? Obviously there is
Global.mpt; but can there be others? If so, how does MSProject know what
global templates to open? Is it like Word where any global templates in the
StartUp folder are "active" (code can be used) but not really open in the
sense that one can explore code modules in the editor. Is thee something
equivalent to an AddIn?

Thanks

Hi,

As a consultant I regularly use multiple Global files, one for each client.
I have a folder for each client and a Global file in that folder for the
client.

I then create a desktop icon for each client with the Start in folder set to
the Client's folder. Project always looks in the Start-in folder first for a
Global.mpt file.

Now I have different, custom views, tables, etc for every client.

Rod: thanks for the reply. Your approach for handling multiple clients is
useful. But right now I want to have multiple global templates and they can
all be in the standard StartUp/StartIn folder. In fact, I want them to be in
the same folder.

Can that be done?

You can only have one global template (global.mpt) active at one time, but
you can have has many templates (*.mpt) as you want.
