Multiple Graphs on a Single Slide w/ One Legend

Christine

Our users used to to this all the time in 2000, but now that we've been
upgraded to 2007 there are some issues.

In the past they were able to crop the legend out of the graphs themselves
and then duplicate one of the graphs and crop the graph out to just show the
legend. Then the user would center the single legend centered underneath
both graphs.

Since they can't figure out how to crop the graphs in 2007, they are
omitting the legend in the graphs and drawing the legend in the appropriate
space.

Is there a better way to achieve this?

Thanks,
Christine

If there is, I'm certainly not aware of it.

Oh, wait.

You can make the chart in Excel. Be sure to save it.

Then in PPT, Paste Special and choose Paste Link, then MS Office Excel Chart
Object.

Right-click the chart object. Choose Format Object.

On the Picture tab, you can crop from the appropriate side. Unfortunately,
it's an "input-the-numbers" thing instead of a WYSIWYG crop.

Of course, you can always paste special as an image (PNG or EMF) and crop
that. But then you lose the data.

Irritating that you can't crop the embedded chart object, isn't it?
