Multiple Indexes

Dear Friends,
I have a long DOC and want to mark entries for multiple indexes (Place
index, people index etc.) I understand I can do this with the F key but is
there a front end for this command so I can choose which index as I mark
up the enteies? Maybe a third party product?
TIA
Raffi

When you use Alt+Shift+X to insert an XE field, Word displays the field
after you insert it, and you can manually add the needed switches at that
time. But no, unfortunately there is no way to do this through the Mark
Index Entry dialog.

Why didn't some genius developer design a frontend for all word fields with
all swtiches. It's really not to much to ask after all.

Well, there is such a general dialog: Insert | Field. If you work through
Field Codes and Options, you will get an interface where you can insert
switches, but you'll have to type in the content of the field manually. If
you're having to do this anyway (because the text you want in the index is
not the same as the text in the document), you *might* find this more
convenient, but I doubt it, given the number of mouse clicks required to
achieve it and given that the dialog doesn't stay open so that you can mark
other entries.
