Multiple instances

Does anyone know if there is a way to force a workbook to
open in a new instance of Excel rather than an instance
that is already open?

if you have a workbook already open, open Excel again from the Start Menu
and then open the spreadsheet from within Excel i.e. File - Open (don't find
the file in explorer and double click otherwise it will open in the same
Excel instance)

Why would you want them to? If you were just looking to have more windows in the taskbar, ie one
for each file open, just use Tools / Options / View Tab / Check 'Windows in Taskbar'

Try checking "Ignore other applications" in Tools>Options>General.

Thanks. That worked perfectly. I can change that setting
in code so that it only affects one specific application.
