Multiple levels on one line

Cate

Hi all,

Using Word 2000 under WinXP, we're trying to achieve the following:

(a) (i)
(ii)

(b) (i)
(ii)

Found a discussion on using a combination of Outline Numbers and
ListNum field, but had no luck implementing this - could not
hide/remove the "(a)" level for (a)(ii), (a)(iii) and so on.

Any ideas appreciated - including "you can't do this"!

TIA

Did you set up outline numbering according to the instructions at
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html ? Make
sure that lower numbering levels (levels 2, 3, etc.) does not include
the numbering of a previous level. Then you should be able to insert
{ LISTNUM \L 2 } fields to produce numbers (i)-(iii) like this:

(a) (i) Heading 1
(ii)
(iii)
(iv) Heading 2
(b) Heading 1
