Multiple MS Access Queries to Create Diagram in Visio

Simplifying my actual requirement, I have data the needs to be
displayed as a lifecylce, from left to right, with data going through
the center, with two separate queries based upon the data to appear
underneath each, appearing columnar. I am expecting to use VBA to
output the data from MS Access, either directly into Visio or as XML,
and them imported into Viso or Excel.

Is anyone familar with this idea? Has anyone done it before?

sounds like a crosstab query to me, and then table export it to excel.
