Multiple note reference marks

When I copy and paste a reference mark it duplicates the
footnote text at the bottom of the page. I am trying to
duplicate the refernce mark, retain the rollover text and
also just have one footnote at the bottom of the page.

Look in Help for a topic called

Refer to the same footnote or endnote more than once.

Not sure if you will be able to keep the mouseover yellow text, assuming
that's what you mean by rollover.

As Dayo implies, what you need is a cross-reference to the footnote. Insert
it as follows:

Insert | Cross-reference (Insert | Reference | Cross-reference in Word 2002
and above) to Footnote: Footnote number (formatted), selecting the desired
footnote in the pane at the bottom of the dialog. If you insert this as a
hyperlink, it will hyperlink to the original text reference, not to the
footnote itself. I've had success bookmarking the footnote and inserting a
hyperlink to that, but another user who tried it was unable to make this
work, and we're not sure why. In neither case will you see the text of the
footnote in a ScreenTip.

Thanks to you both for your replies, I had tried both and
neither way allows for the rollover text unless on the
hyperlink you copy and past the text from the footnote to
the screen tip. The reference mark also comes in as
hyperlink text and then you have to format the text to
normal etc. I wondered if there was a way of just making a
reference mark relate to the the same footer like a set of
affiliations may relate to a number of authors etc.

Thanks for your advise anyway

Kind regards

Dale
