Multiple office products installed, which to keep?

H

heatherp.

Hopefully I put this thread in the right place...

my boss gave me his old laptop and upon initial cleaning i discovered in the
add/remove list there are 3, i think, office products. this is what it says:

microsoft office xp professional with front page - 506 mb
microsoft office xp standard for teachers and students - 182 mb
microsoft office xp media content - 88mb

i'm just using my computer for plain old home use, but would like to keep
excel and word. can i or should i delete the professional front page version?

and do i need media content, whatever that is?

any info would be most helpful for the computer illiterate :D

thanks,

heather

Get the Office XP CD and install key from your boss, otherwise you don't
have the license to use the software.

Nor will you be able to uninstall or repair

The size as reported in the Add/Remove dialogue cannot be relied upon
If xp pro was installed after xp T&S all it would have done is add
components not included in T&S
Once you have the cd's you use these to modify the installation, that is
remove components you dont want, eg Front Page
