Multiple open documents

I use Windows 2000 and Office 2002. On a regular basis
when I open my profile and call up Word 2002 it comes up
and automatically opens five or ten blank docuents. I
don't know how to stop this. I never close out of my
profile with open documents. Has anyone had similar
problems and how did you solve it?
