Multiple Personal Folders in Outlook

Drew

I have just installed Office 2003 on a new system and
copied over my .pst file from an older system. I have
done this multiple times as I have upgraded hardware and
never had any problems until the 2003 version of Outlook.
With one .pst file, my "Personal Folders" shows up twice
and they are exact duplicates of each other. When the
send/receive finishes, new mail shows up in both spots,
and all subdirectories and contents are the same. When I
right-click over the duplicate entry to delete it, that
option is greyed out...can't do anything with it.

This happened to me in January and I got it resolved
through MS Tech SUpport, but don't recall the exact steps
we went through. I have been unable to locate any
documentation on this problem. Has anyone had this
problem and been able to successfully fix it. I attempted
to use scanpst and it told me the file was corrupt, but it
did not fix the duplicate entry problem. I also tried to
run outlook with the / switch that created a new pst file
and import the data from the old file but ended up with
the duplicate peronsal folders again.
