Multiple "phases" to a Task

This seems like it should be simple, but maybe i'm missing something. Here's
my goal:
I need to have multiple (3-5) different phases within a single task. I
don't want multiple lines because these are essential single projects. I'm
basically making a status report with many application development projects.
I need to show the project and have a timeline with the development phase,
followed by a user testing phase, followed by a production phase. All phases
should appear on the same line, in different colors.

Ideas?
