Multiple PMs managing the same resource

I have multiple project managers managing the same resources in thier
schedules. They update their schedules very frequently rescheduling
unfinished work, scheduling new work, etc. Currently these updates are not
coordinated and as a result the resources are constantly being overloaded.
Does anyone have a suggestion or a proven solution to deal with this?

There is no automatic way to force Microsoft Project to prevent or solve
this problem. Therefore, the best advice I can offer you is that you
require your PMs to meet together regularly to resolve their resource
allocation and overallocation issues. In an environment where you have
shared resources across multiple projects managed by multiple PMs, you
should really have the PMs meet together on a regular basis to decide who
gets which resources and when. Hope this helps.
