Multiple Project Professional files connecting to 1 Project Server

My question sounds simple, but I think the process can be very complex. I
know you can connect more than one Project Professional file to 1 Microsoft
Project Server. But, if you have 3 different file names with different
tasks, but the resources are all the same for each Project file, will the
resources be duplicated? I am under the impression that if you have 3
different file names and the exact same tasks on each Project file, you will
create duplicate tasks on the Project Server. But, if you were to have 3
different Project files with the same resources on each Project file, but
different tasks, will that create duplicate resources?

Your question betrays the fact that you don't understand how to work with
resources in Project Server. In each of the three projects you mention, you
need to create the project team by clicking Tools - Build Team from
Enterprise. From there you can assign resources to the tasks in the
project. This procedure will not create duplicate resources. Hope this
helps.

Thanks Dale, you da man!! I totally understand now that the Enterprise
Project Resources are not local but are on the server. But I do understand
that if the same exact resources are working on the same exact tasks on 3
different files, that will create duplicate tasks. Right?

The task names for the tasks will appear to be the same, but they represent
separate tasks in each project. Hope this helps.

Dale,
Yes, this makes perfect sense. I really appreciate your input on this
subject. You have been a huge help in helping me make a decision as to how
we are going to submit a proposal. Thank you Dale.
