All,
I believe (but am not perfectly sure) that the editsite tool used in
PS 2003 allowed an organization to create multiple PWA sites all of
which connect to the same PS 2003 instance. This would allow each
group in a company to have what appears to be their own instance of
project server, yet they all share the same instance, including the
same db. This would all the "enterprise" capabilities to be
maintained. This would include enterprise reporting, a central
resource pool, etc.
If this is true, is there such a capability using PS 2007. My
organization wants to install multiple instances, one for each major
contract. This could grow into 6 - 10. I'm afraid that by doing so,
we'll loose much of the "enterpise" capabilities I mentioned, plus the
time it would take to maintain such a monster.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Shane
