Multiple Rates for a Resource

How do I reflect a rate increase for a resource so that the project shows the
increase after a certain date instead of reflecting the cost through the
entire project?

If I republish the project, the cost changes for the entire project to
reflect the new rate instead of showing the rate to start after a certain
date?

Thanks,

Your Project Server administrator needs to do the following:

1. Launch Microsoft Project Professional and log into Project Server with
administrator permissions
2. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Open Enterprise Resource Pool
3. Select the resource in question and then click the Open/Add button
4. Double-click the name of the resource
5. In the Resource Information dilaog, select the Costs tab
6. Select Cost Rate Table A
7. On the second line of the data grid, enter the date of the rate increase
in the Effective Date column and then enter the new rate in the Standard
Rate column
8. Click OK
9. Save and close the Enterprise Resource Pool

You should then open your project and press the F9 key to recalculate the
project. Resources costs for this resource will be calculated at the old
rate for task work prior to the effective date, and will be calculated using
the new rate for all task work after the effective date. Hope this helps.
