I have multiple resources with different allocations on a single task and
would like them all to work from the start date to finish date at their
individual rates. However, Project has is evenly splitting the total work and
thus the less allocated resource has become critical path.
Example:
Task: Testing
Resources: Tester [40%], Advisor [10%]
Work: 5 days
Expected Result:
Duration should be 10 days because a total of 50% resources are assigned)
Actual Result:
Duration is 25 days because the less allocated resource is assigned 50% of
the work, and taking 10 times as long as half the work (2.5 days x 10).
Is there a way to have project redo the work assignment calculation to
spread the work based on allocation and not just evenly across resources? It
does this if I set the resources with their allocations at the onset, but not
as I've gone in and made changes as the project has been defined. I have a
ton of tasks and don't want to have to manually update all of them.
