Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2002 in workgroup mode but using pop3 and smtp
servers (requirement of their business application is workgroup mode)
Many of my clients using outlook on their laptops have to constantly edit
their outlook mail account properties to a site (ISP) specific smtp server
because of various issues (blocking port 25, server not available outside
isp firewall...). They travel and often use multiple ISPs between their
home, office and hotels. I'm considering writing a program that will walk
through a list of smtp servers, checking for port 25 accessibility and set
the Outlook mail account properties appropriately to the first one that
succeeds.
Is there another solution that is relatively brainless for the average
business computer user (very computer iliterate)? I really want a single
step if at all possible. Setting up multiple profiles will be more confusing
than just giving them a program to run each time they change location.
