Multiple subreports

I have a report (Report1) which has a subreport (subreport2) in the report
footer. I inserted another subreport (subreport 3) in the report footer of
subreport 2. The reason why i did this was so that all the records in report
1 are followed by those in subreport 2 and those in subreport 2 are followed
by those in subreport 3. However, the records in subreport 3 only show up if
there are some in subreport 2. Why is this happening? How can i fix it?

Sub report 3 is linked by fields in sub report 2. If there are no fields
(Containing the linking data) in sub report 2, then sub report 3 will have
nothing to link to and will not display/print

How can I unlink them? I thought they were linked to so i went to the
subreport properites and checked under "link child fields" and "link master
fields", but in both subreports there are no child or master fields linked.Is
there any other way in which they could be linked. If so, how can i unlink
them?

If there are no records in sub report 2 there is no report footer so nowhere
for the subreport 3 to go into.

Is there a reason why you don't just put both sub reports into the footer of
the main report (if there is no linking fields)
