I am using Word 2002. This has never happened to me before, but now it just
showed up.
In a Drawing Canvas, I created a text box, and put some text in it.
Next, I tried to simply Copy the text box, then paste a copy into the
Drawing canvas (but not in the original text box).
When I do that, text inside the original changes, and the two text boxes now
have the exact same text.
When I edit the text in one text box, the other text box does the same.
If I delete one of the now-duplicate text boxes, the TEXT in the other box
goes away, but the box remains.
When I get rid of BOTH text boxes, I can create a new one, but any
subsequent boxes are duplicates of the first one in the canvas.
I have never seen this before, and it is quite odd. Could someone please
enlighten me?
My 'solution' was to not copy, but simply create a new text box each time
(tedious). However, after the problem occurred, any new text box I create
(from the drawing toolbar) is also linked to the original. If
