Multiple users on a network.

What's the best way to deploy a database that will be used by multiple users
simultaneously, with growth in mind. I'd prefer to use the Access security
to control individuals rights.

Jason:

You just asked this question (but in more detail) in the security group.
You don't really want people wasting their time writing a response here if
there is already a response there, do you?

Please don't post duplicate messages in different groups.

Actually, the first question was more sepecific because it was asking about
SECURITY. The second was asking about how to DEPLOY the database itself.
Although they are very similar, they weren't the same. First, thanks for
your help, second, if your times so precious, don't spend it policing the
user group by responding to questions that are similar. Rewording questions
is a way of getting more responses, from different people. This is what user
groups are designed for.

Bravo Jason, my thoughts exactly... if a persons time was
THAT valuable, the person wouldnt even be here answering
questions, he'd be making a living, something at least
that would bring him benefit of time spent well. :)
Bravo! So to the users who dislike multiposts, if you
dont like it...dont read it!

Jason and Newman,
Those of us that attempt to provide support to the news groups should be
able to expect and promote some basic etiquette. Please read the information
at this page http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm.

If you don't want to, don't understand, or can't follow these simple
requests then I expect that some of those that might provide the greatest
support for you will ignore you. Most of the instances will cause someone to
give you a gentle nudge in the right direction. Rick B's response was far
from critical or abusive. I didn't detect any offense even though you both
seemed to have.

If Jason didn't think it was a multi-post, all he had to do was clarify.
There was no reason to make suggestions to Rick B. about how he should spend
his time. Lighten-up guys. At least keep the postings mature.

I often create sample tables and test various solutions prior to posting
answers to the news groups. Could you think about my frustration if I did
this for one of your questions and then later found the same question and a
similar reply in another news group? Most of us are quite busy with work and
family and use our "spare" time to provide assistance. None of us are
getting paid for posting.

In this case, the questions might have been worded a bit differently to
enhance their uniqueness. I didn't see the question in the security ng.

Thanks, Duane.

I will admit that multiple posts, or posts for common questions might annoy
me a bit and I have been rather short at times, but my intentions were in
the right place.

Have a good weekend.

Apparently you don't know how to behave in public.Continue on if you feel
the need to do so. Consider this my last post in this thead.
