Yeah, I don't know why this is so hard, but I have never bothered to read
any of the Getting started stuff. However, from the Start menu, double
click on the Computer item, then double click on the Vista (C
and then on
the Program Files folder and then on Microsoft Office and then on Office##
(Office12 if you have 2007 installed, or Office11 if it is Office 2003),
then on the WINWORD item. That will then cause a dialog box to be displayed
asking you to enter your name and initials and then, Word will start. You
only have to do this once, as thereafter Word will appear on the start menu.
Just checking again now, if you right click on the WINWORD item, you can
select Pint to Start Menu, so I just did that for all of the Office
applications.
