Multisort - Sort and Switch Multiple Columns

Hi there,

is there any way to make a "real" multisort in Excel? That is, sorting
not only within the columns in an ascending order, but sorting the
columns themselves, so that at the end the highest values will be at
the upper-left corner of the table, and the lowest at the lower-right?

Thanks for any advice!

I'm not sure where this term/definition of ""real" multisort" comes from,
but if you mean to sort by column & by row simultaneously, I would think not
- at least not within the scope of standard features.

However, in the Data> Sort dialog you can hit the Options button & choose
Sort Left to Right. Preceding or following a typical Sort Top to Bottom it
might give the result you want.

OTOH, if you mean you want to randomly enter values in a matrix of cells:

2 8 4 1
3 7 6 5

& and have the program rearrange them for you by column & row:

1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8

I'm afraid I can't offer any suggestions.
