Multiuser Error

I am need of desperate help. I get an error saying "The Microsoft Jet
Database engine stopped the process because you and another user are
attempting to change the same data at the same time." but there is no
one else in the database.

Plus, when I get this error, it did something to my memo field. It
replaced all my notes and all it says is "#Error". Is there a way to
restore that note. Is it possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.
