Music on Home Page

I added a sound file to my home page using Web Site Options, but when I
publish the site, I don't hear the music. Should it automatically include
this sound file when I publish? I tried copying the sound file to the
server, but the Web Site Options won't let me connect to a server. Am I
missing something here? Please help! Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Yes, the sound file has been
uploaded to the server. When I try to put in the address where the file is
in the Publisher Window, it tells me that it cannot open the sound file. If
I try to browse, it tells me that I cannot use an internet address.

I don't know what else to do.

Excuse me for jumping in here, but Publisher uses .mid files for the
background music. Are you trying to load a different file format? You would
have to insert some script to load different music file formats. Google for
the script and use the insert html code fragment feature in Publisher.

Well, then, that makes sense. I was trying to use a WAV file. I'll get the
script and take it from there. Thanks for everyone's help!

Sarah,

I'm sure your visitors will be thrilled to download a huge wav file so
they can hear music they don't want to. That's why you see so almost
every site you ever visit having background music - people can't get
enough of it.

I don't like music on websites either. But this is for a client and that is
what he wants - against our advice not to. So...I have to assume - the
customer is always right.
