There is a single musical note in the Webdings character set supplied with
recent versions of Windows, but if you need something more adventurous,
you'll need a specialised music notation font.

In "(normal text)" for Unicode fonts (Times New Roman, Arial, and many
others) there is a single note at 266A and two tied notes at 266B in the
Miscellaneous Dingbats character subset.
