When I put a music file into the presentation, I want it
to repeat, and turn it off by the number of slides, not
by the end of the song. If have checked loop, and
repeat, but it still stops.

Any help would be appreciated.

Need more info. Which version of PPT, and what kind of sound file? That
is, is it a WAV or MP3 or something like that, or are you playing a song
via an audio CD (Insert/Sound/Play CD track)?

Something you can do if you have your presentation music

file to play when you start the presentation is to open
the Custom Animation toolbar and set the start to start
with previous then right-click on the music file in the
pane, select Effects Option and click on the Effect tab
then go down to the area where it says stop playing and
click on after slide and the slide number you want it to
stop playing at
