Must updgrade Word if installing Outlook 2003

Just installed a new Exchange 2003, then started to
upgrade Outlook xxx on clients to Outlook 2003 and got
this message:
"To use this feature, you must install the version of
Microsoft Word that matches the installed version of
Microsoft Office Outlook"

This seems to be the result of trying to do a mailmerge
using contacts.

Seems as though MS wants everyone to just upgrade across
the board but then why do they ship Outlook 2003 as the
Client for Exchange 2003? Surely not everyone just wants
to upgrade everything..../dave

WordMail, mail merge, and the Send To command in Word are the ones
affected,none of which are essential to Outlook's operation as an Exchange
client. For mail merge, the workaround is to export to a comma-delimited
file and use that as the merge data source.
