I have found multiple copies of documents in My Documents
folder. When I try to delete them, another copy is
created. Many of the documents are Word Documents and
some ore ~WRL<number>.tmp. What are these and how can I
get rid of them

These temp files are created while you're working on a document. They should
disappear when you close the document. If they don't, you should be able to
delete them.

When I try to delete them, I get additional copies of the
file, ie, Copy 2 of >>>>, Copy 1 of Copy 2 of

The same thing has happened to me and I can't get rid of my excel files. I am
up to 9 copies. Is it because I am working from the jump drive and not the
hard drive?

It is because you have orphan temp files. Do not work directly from
removable media. Copy to and from the hard drive.
When you remove the media, do so after first using the safely remove
hardware utility accessed from the system tray so that files are properly
closed. Clear up the mess using the suggestions at
