mutliple users--mail only coming to one mailbox

We have one main account user with one additional
identity. Incoming mail to the additional identity is
arriving in the mailbox of the main account user and not
the mailbox of the additional identity. Have adjusted all
settings, but problem persists. Thought it was corrected,
but next day back to problem...perhaps with shutdown
something isn't being saved? Or, do we have something
missing from our set-up of additional identity?
