Hi. I am hoping someone may be able to help me. I used to be able to view
my attachments in emails with no problem. Now when I try to open an
attachment they automatically open in my Notepad which just displays a bunch
of numbers and letters - not the photo I want to view. I appreciate any
help. Thanks!

Not an Outlook problem. Outlook simply uses whatever you've configured in
Windows to open the particular file type. Fix the Windows settings.

If you save the item to your hard drive and double click on them, do they
open in the right program?

No, they still open in my notepad....

Then you need to reset the default program for the file type to the correct
program. Save the attachment to the hard drive and right click on it, then
choose open with... and select the program you prefer to use.

Thank you Diane. That works. However, I do have one more question. How can
I change my attachment settings so everytime I open an attachment it
automatically opens it to the program I prefer to use - instead of having to
save each item to the hard drive first? Thanks so much - at least now I know
how to get around the error....

Once you've set the right programs in Windows, it should carry through to
Outlook
