My brother and I accidentally used the same product key. Now whenever
we both want to use Word or anything we get this message that says it
is in use. I was wondering how I could change my code from one to
another. It is Microsoft Office student and teacher edition if that
makes a difference.

thanks
Jake

Hello Jake,
1. run the Office Removal tool, you will find it here:
Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools/Remove Office/
RemoveOffice

2. When the first screen appear "Welcome to remove office" hold down
the option key and you will be given button "remove license info only"

3. Click that

4. next time you run office you will be promted for new licencing info

With all Office apps closed, run the Remove Office application (found in
your Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools folder. Hold down the Option
Key and click the Remove Licensing Information Only button. Open an
Office app and enter the correct key.
