my computer can not make a two communication with my printer

please help me...

I am using the windows word version 2000, my printer is an HP ALL IN ONE
PRINTER VERSION C3100.everytime i print something , the result is always in
the wrong version.when i attempted to change the settings so the printer
would print the way I needed it to.the computer gave me the message above in
the subject line.
