My computer keeps freezing up in 30 second intervals

I have Windows 98, 256k Dell. Starting yesterday my puter starting freezing up at 30 second intervals or therabouts. I have run my anti-virus, disc defragment, deleted temp files and cookies, rebooted unpluged the mouse and rebooted. Why would this be happening and how can I correct it?

Jen,
First, this is an MS Project newsgroup. You will probably have better
luck if you post on a Windows newsgroup (e.g.
microsoft.pulbic.win98.gen_discussion).

Aside from that, make sure your anti-virus has the latest definition
files. It is possible you have a virus that is new.

You also might want to find a hardware newsgroup that is focused on
Dell. If everything checks out from a software standpoint, you might
have a hardware problem.
