My cursor jumps randomly as I type in all applications

N

Nancy

My cursor randomly jumps mid-word as I type, so I end up retyping words and
sentences. This occurs very often, and in all apps (including when I am
typing in a webpage) This started about a month after I bought my new
computer (3 months ago). I have run Norton antivirus software to check for
virus's, but haven't come up with anything. I found something on the web
suggesting it might be my microsoft wireless mouse, but this condition takes
place whether I am using the mouse or not. It is driving me crazy. I can't
return the computer, but I feel like throwing it out the window. The jumps
are sometimes 2 letters or 2 sentences (random) and also occur randomly -
sometimes every sentence, sometimes every 2-3 minutes. HELP!!!

Open Windows XP's "Help and Support Center" and type: TEXT SERVICES ,
and hit enter.
Then click on "Turn text services off or on".
You need to turn-off text services.

Hi Carey, ok I turned it off. What is this option? Do you think it may be the
root of all my frustrations???? Best, Nancy

I've seen others have this problem but it's either caused by brushing the
touchpad or picking up sounds with VR. I wish I could do more to help you.

I've heard tell, but never experienced, that vibrations from the keyboard
can trigger sensitive touchpads. I don't know what can be changed to reduce
the possibility.

Might be an interesting experiment to see what Word makes of your dance
moves - but I think I'll leave it for others to test :)
