When I delete an EMAIL that has been read - meaning - it's now marked as read
- it's gone; purged - in one keystroke. If I delete an unread message - it
goes to the deleted folder like it should.
I need to keep my deleted emails until I purge them. I cannot find a setting
anywhere on this. My mail is all POP3.
In Entourage preferences you can set to have emails marked as read after
displaying after xx seconds. This is under Preferences --> Read.
If you have your view selected to show Unread only, messages can seem
disappear. Selecting Flagged only can "hide" messages too.
Entourage does not nuke or purge messages when deleted. They should just go
to the Deleted Items folder.
OK - this is weird. Sorry to bother on this. I just expanded my deleted folder
and it has several folders below it - including a Main Identity.rge folder.
Below that folder are my deleted items.
The Main Identity.rge folder shows you imported your messages from another
Identity. You are supposed to move these out of the folder to folders "On My
Computer" and delete the .rge folder and it's subfolders.
It's possible you've been checking the wrong Deleted Items folder.
I don't know how this works or why this is hierarchical like this. it used to
just be a Deleted folder with all my deleted stuff in it.
What'd I change?
It sounds like the import made your folder list confusing over the default
and imported folders. If you still have problems, post a screenshot of your
folder list. You can post a screenshot link using a service like ImageShack.
ImageShack is an easy-to-use free media hosting service. It can be used to
upload images. Registration is not required in order to upload files.
